Hello, Workspace Sandusky

Robert Crabtree.

Husband, father, coach. Builder for twenty years.

Twenty years building marketing — from mom-and-pop shops to Fortune 500. Lifelong computer tinkerer, from MS-DOS floppies to talking to my computer. Founder of Crabtree Marketing and 16Fold, in Vermilion, Ohio.

I built this for myself.

Twenty years in business. Floppy disks to talking to my computer. AI is the biggest leap I've seen in any of it.

"If I could just duplicate myself, I'd get so much more done."

I said that to my wife for years. I tried hiring. I tried training. I kept ending up doing the work over.

In January 2025 I picked a lane: Claude. I built an orchestrator named Hermes. A chief of staff named Jeeves. A QA agent named Breaker whose only job is to find what's wrong before I see it. Behind them, 13 specialists.

I finally duplicated myself. I call it 16Fold.

WHAT I'VE BUILT WITH CLAUDE

  • Fully-coded websites in days, not months — no WordPress
  • Our own social media dashboard, MCP-connected into every channel
  • Direct hooks into Meta Ads, Google Ads, Google Analytics
  • Replaced Hootsuite, SEMrush — built tools that do the same jobs
  • End-to-end content pipelines: social, paid, email, all generated, all on-brand

April was the worst month of my life.

A test no one would design on purpose. And the only reason I made it through was that I'd already built the system.

WHAT WAS HAPPENING

  • Massive storm. Power out for days. Wooded area.
  • Basement flooded — five inches, five times
  • Wife in Florida five days caring for her father
  • Insurance claim · 1,000+ photos · five-figure damage
  • Coaching high-school baseball through the season
  • Crabtree Marketing: 8 active clients, deadlines moving
  • Anthropic outage mid-week
  • Father-in-law's RV totaled in transit from Florida

WHAT KEPT WORKING

  • Client work shipped on schedule
  • Leads followed up, nothing dropped
  • Employees kept aligned and unblocked
  • Groceries on the table — meal-planned and ordered
  • System never went offline, even when Anthropic did
  • I never touched the marketing work

"Four stories from those 30 days will explain why."

Story 01 · The flood

I was in waders.
The agency was in the office.

Sunday night. Pipe burst. Six inches of water in the basement. Power out from the storm.

  1. Three client social posts shipped on schedule.
  2. Two leads followed up before noon Monday.
  3. One ad campaign optimized while I was running the wet vac.

Running my business on a cell signal and my iPhone. Tapped into Claude. Tapped into Jeeves. The system kept the lights on while I kept the water out.

Story 02 · The grocery run

Jeeves planned the meals.
Jeeves did the shopping.

THE SETUP

Wife was in Florida five days. Basement was still flooding. Baseball practice. No way I was running to Meijer.

WHAT I HANDED OFF

Three months of my wife's Meijer orders. Photos of the pantry. Photos of the fridge. "Plan meals. Build the cart. Don't repeat anything inside two weeks."

WHAT JEEVES DELIVERED

A two-week meal plan in our voice. A grocery cart built around what we already had. Loaded, ready for my review. Didn't check out — that's still my call.

Meijer · Cart Ready

14 meals planned · 0 repeats

Story 03 · The outage

Anthropic went down.
My system kept running.

SYSTEM STATUS · MID-OUTAGE

Anthropic API

Provider outage · 30 min · restoration expected

OFFLINE

OpenRouter Fallback

Routing all traffic · zero dropped requests

ACTIVE

V4 Pipeline

Posts in flight · QA passing · publishing on schedule

RUNNING

Mac Studio · headless

No monitor · no keyboard · always on · reachable from anywhere

HEALTHY

"When AI is infrastructure, the outage is a footnote.
When AI is a tool, it's a workday lost."

Story 04 · The translator

Four hours. Two languages.
Jeeves in the middle.

My father-in-law's RV — his home, his belongings — was being transported from Florida. The carrier handed it to another carrier. The new driver spoke no English. There was an accident. The RV was totaled before it ever got to us.

He still wanted to get paid. I couldn't understand a word.

I pulled out Jeeves. I spoke. Jeeves translated. The driver spoke. Jeeves translated. We went back and forth for four hours at Wade's in Monroeville — sorting an accident, an insurance claim, and a totaled home — for an RV that wasn't even mine.

"And the rest of my business kept moving the whole time."

One request. Thirteen minds. One seamless result.

You give an input. Hermes routes it. Specialists execute. Breaker checks the work. The output lands wherever it needs to go. The seams are invisible — to you and to anyone receiving the work.
